On-site Paper Shredding Can Prevent Identity Theft and Protect Your Business
Prevent identity theft…protect your business…shred everything!
Identity theft is a serious threat to businesses and consumers. According to an estimate from the Federal Trade Commission, as many as 9 million Americans have their identities stolen each year. Nearly 70% of identity theft crimes are the result of information stolen from a single mishandled document. If this happens at your business, the resulting fines and loss of good will can be devastating.
The Texas Attorney General has actively investigated and taken legal action against various businesses and organizations across the state in an effort to protect consumers from identity thieves, specifically citing the Identity Theft Enforcement and Protection Act which sets fines between $2,000 and $50,000 for each violation.
Don’t think this applies to your business? Think again!
With increased litigation and concern over identity theft, your business must develop and implement strict record management practices to protect proprietary and customer information from identity thieves.
Document shredding and recycling programs help companies keep information from the wrong hands. The most secure and convenient method is on-site shredding. With on-site paper shredding service, your paper is shredded in a mobile document destruction vehicle at your location and then delivered to a recycling plant.
On-site shredding is safe and fast, and it allows your business to:
- Comply with state and federal regulations on information destruction
- Raise the level of security and service to your own customers
- Eliminate inadequate office paper shredders
- Boost employee productivity and efficiency
- GO GREEN by recycling all shredded materials

i think that shredding is a good way but i think it is better to get yourself protected by buying a membership with an identity theft protection company because by shredding your documents you are protecting yourself of getting stolen from that one document instead of not even have to worry about it anymore having professionals taking care of that. I was a victim and i know how hard it is to fix your credit and all that, so now im using my membership with shieldsafe.com, and identity theft protection company with 30 years of experience in law enforcement and with very low prices.

I own a mid to large size business and not being very smart never shredded anything before, then i bought a shredder that I was told only shredded one direction so I looked up news ways of disposing information and was directed to this web site. So now in addition to having my information properly shredded, I also am finally aboard the ID theft hysteria and signed up. I looked at many of the companies out there including the one mentioned above. I actaully saw a good article on CNBC about ShieldSafe and so now I’m aboard. Hope all this works!!!
